About

I am an academic, researcher, and strategic communications specialist with a passion for translating complex research into meaningful stories that inform decision-making, strengthen partnerships, and create positive societal impact.

My research explores how communication shapes public engagement with complex environmental and social issues. Drawing on expertise in climate change communication, sustainability, children’s geographies, and stakeholder engagement, I am particularly interested in how evidence can be communicated in ways that inspire understanding, participation, and meaningful action.

I believe research has its greatest value when it is understood, shared, and translated into meaningful action. My work focuses on connecting evidence with people, ensuring that research informs decisions, strengthens communities, and contributes to a more sustainable future.

I completed my Doctor of Philosophy at the University of the Sunshine Coast (UniSC), where my research examined the role of gender in climate change communication and the factors that influence audience engagement with climate messaging. My work combines qualitative and quantitative research methods to better understand how communication can support informed public dialogue and long-term behavioural change.

Professionally, I am the Impact Project Officer within UniSC's Office of Research. I work across the University to identify, synthesise, and communicate evidence of research excellence and societal impact, supporting researchers and professional staff to demonstrate how research creates meaningful benefits for communities, industry, government, and the environment.

My work also includes leading the development of UniSC's annual Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Report and supporting the University's participation in the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings. These projects sit at the intersection of research impact, sustainability reporting, strategic communication, and stakeholder engagement, bringing together evidence from across teaching, research, engagement, and operations to communicate institutional impact.

Alongside my professional work, I continue to publish in the fields of climate change communication, sustainability, youth engagement, and environmental communication. My research seeks practical solutions to bridge the gap between evidence and action, ensuring research is accessible, relevant, and capable of driving positive change.

I welcome opportunities for research collaboration, interdisciplinary partnerships, and conversations that advance research impact, sustainability, and effective communication.
