Inspired Ideas For Your Holiday Season

I’m always on the look out for great ideas and inspiration from others, who I am so grateful for their time and sharing to help me along when creativity escapes me!  Christmas is no exception.  I have gathered website resources that I think will inspire you and fancy up your Christmas.  From wrapping to cooking, from activities to getting in the spirit.
Get wrapping with great tips and ideas from Martha Stewart – http://www.marthastewart.com/276321/gift-wrapping-tips-and-techniques#177797.  Our friends at Kidspot have awesome ideas on wrapping on the cheap – http://www.kidspot.com.au/Christmas-Christmas-on-the-cheap-Gift-Wrap-On-The-Cheap+3655+272+article.htm

Food and celebrations go hand in hand.  I love this website (and not just at Christmas) – http://www.taste.com.au/recipes/collections/groups/christmas+recipes and for Food gift ideas – http://www.taste.com.au/news+features/articles/5079/christmas+food+gifts.

We all love eating at the table on Christmas day with family and friends.  Lots of sparkle and colours is the aim of the day.  Some awesome ideas at – http://www.kidspot.com.au/Christmas/Christmas-decorations-Christmas-decorating-ideas-Decorating-the-Christmas-table+3753+665+article.htm and http://www.bhg.com/christmas/indoor-decorating/fabulous-ideas-for-holiday-tables/.

What about all the holiday planning?  Well I suggest you head over to http://planningwithkids.com.  Full of excellent hints, tips and free stuff for you.

In your local area there will be heaps of activities on during the holidays.  Most are free, which is great.  Head over to your local councils website or check out your local newspaper for details.  You can also find ideas at http://www.byokids.com.au/content/view/766/57/ and http://spoonful.com/christmas or http://www.kidspot.com.au/parenting-directory/browse-School-Holiday-Activities+129/All+0.htm?gclid=CL7i5IfQmrsCFe5WpgodJVcA4g.

I also love making reindeer food for Santa’s reindeer.  Some raw oatmal/porridge and glitter, mix together and leave out for Rudolf and his mates.  Guaranteed there it will be all gone when the kids get up in the morning!
I have written an article that may help you during this busy and fun time – http://unity-qld.com.au/~unityqld/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/Holiday-Stress-and-Your-Kids.pdf

Most of all, google is your best friend at the holidays.  You can find colouring in tables, ideas on food, shopping, how to’s, instructional vids, whats on, tips on stress, and loads more.  If you are at a loose end, can’t think of anything or its raining and the family is driving you up the wall with the ‘I’m bored’ comments….. Google.  And remember to take a silent moment to be grateful to those who have shared their ideas with you.  You may even have great ideas and become inspired to help others too!

Remember…. the most valuable tool in your toolkit is lists, daily schedules and a flexible plan.  Just google christmas to do list, or look in your documents templates and get started.

If you have anymore great ideas or websites please head over to our Facebook page or Twitter to share. Or you can email me and I will share.

Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays and Happy New Year to you all.  I wish you loads of laughs, that you are surrounded by love and take time to soak in the moments that are important to you. Kirsty x
